PPI questions
I have a few Qs - We have had mortgages, credit cards and was sold advantage gold with Nat West and moved house 3 times - can I do all that on ONE form for Nat West or do I have to do separate forms? I don't have reference numbers or statements but have my account details - will that suffice?
My husband was self employed for most of his working life and I've heard that insurance didn't cover him is that correct ? Any thing I need to write to question this?
I seem to remember 'access' cards - who does that belong to now?
Can I change banks while making PPI claims?
Regards
Jo

No. That is not correct.
A significant minority of PPI plans did not suitably cover the self employed. However, a good chunk did (mortgage ones tended to be better than credit card PPi which in turn tended to be better than loan PPI - thats a generalisation with exceptions but a broad guide).
Access was issued by Natwest, Lloyds and Midland banks amongst others.I seem to remember 'access' cards - who does that belong to now?Can I change banks while making PPI claims?

One will be fine. The online PPi checker for natwest should make it easier.

Your question makes no sense.
Any product can be miss-sold including packaged accounts. However, you choosing to take out a packaged account is not miss-selling, having such a product is not wrong in any way.
Most packaged accounts are now time barred due to customer contact letters (CCLs) being sent out alongside updates, annual statements etc. Indeed, closing the account will also trigger the time bar.
What do you feel was wrong with the account? Is it still open? If you were unhappy with it, why did you take it out and keep it open?Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

way back (mid 1990s) we were told that our Nat west current account was changing to 'advantage gold' with a monthly fee and we felt had no choice but accept it- which we did. I wondered if the pressure of being forced to have the packaged account was 'mis-selling? I wont close our account till it is resolved then.0 -

That isn't miss-selling - you could have simply refused to accept the account, you might have misunderstood the situation but that doesn't mean it was a pressure sale.
If the account is still open they might well be able to time bar it having sent letters to you explaining what it is, the costs and offering you the chance to change itSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

NatWest were on of the first banks to start sending out CCL’s as such it is highly likely that your complaint episode be time barred as you should’ve complained sooner if you weren’t happy.0
