Aa ppi

I had AA breakdown cover, AA car insurance and AA house insurance for years - decades in fact. I paid in monthly instalments and each annual renewal was in the form of a loan for the yearly payments- including interest and, I believe, PPI may have also been routinely applied over many years. However, I never saved the paperwork and have no way to prove I made the payments other than bank statements- which prove categorically that I paid many many instalments. I would be grateful for any advise re establishing whether I unwittingly paid for PPI for years.

  • Your Bank statements are no use in showing you had any PPI.

You could simply ask if you had PPI of course.

Do be aware that the AA were not regulated for insurance sales prior to 2005, so any complaint prior to that is going nowhere regardless...
  • Can u get PPI from brighthouse as a customer
  • No. Just big TVs.

You'll need to buy a standalone income protection policy.

PPI covers debts, it's highly unlikely to have had PPI included as they can simply cancel your policy then chase you, unlike say a loan where you've had the money already.

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Nevertheless, the AA did sell PPI at one time-mostly prior to regulation..
