Play.com

Poor Service, they run something call "Play Trade" this is a system were used DVD's ect are re-sold. I bought a DVD from them, money was taken from my account, 16 day's no DVD! sent Play trade 4 emails over one week no reply. You cannot contact play.com by email you have to phone them (there's a suprise). Got my refund, but what a poor service. Never again

  • I've always had good service from play.com.. when they've misplaced one of my orders, a phone call is all it needs to fix it.

You waited over a week to call them? Why so long?
  • I had the same from HMV - would never buy from them again. Took my money never saw any dvd`s. CC card did refund, but too much hassle to repet it.

At least you can phone them and organise a refund, if it had been ebay there's no phone support...
  • Ringo 24601, the wait was because the online sales status was set to "processing order"
And yes you can phone them but at what cost? why not a simply email facility. again we come back to "customer servicing" they wont see me again

  • Well, their number is 0845 800 1020.. 0845 numbers cost between 0.5 - 2ppm on a BT landline, as detailed here http://www.productsandservices.bt.com/consumerProducts/displayTopic.do?topicId=17340

I think a phone line is a much higher level of customer service than an anonymous email address.

Play.trade allow private sellers to sell items similar to Amazons Marketplace. Found this on their site re play trade queries

What happens if something goes wrong?

As with any shop, occasionally something can go wrong with your order. If you are at all unhappy with an item, or with the service offered by a PlayTrader, we provide a ‘Contact seller’ function available through the Play.com Helpdesk (we keep a copy of your message with your your account details).
We find that the majority of problems can be solved quickly by the buyer contacting the PlayTrader directly. In the unlikely event that your problem cannot be solved, your purchase is covered by the FairPlay Guarantee.

I've always had an excellent service from play.com and Amazon.
