Have you complained to PALS?
It is the NHS Trust that is responsible for adherance to the NHS Parking Principles, and the patient interface is the The Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS).0 -
I would be very mindful of sending medical information to these people - they are entitled to know that sort of information, so if you do decide to supply it, redact it heavily.

As per Keith_P's advice - complain to PALS. Tell them it's urgent, it's absolutely outrageous that you should have this additional burden at this time. If necessary show (controlled) anger, they must get this cancelled straight away.0
-
In particular, point out to PALS this sentence from The NHS patient, visitor and staff car parking principles:Additional charges should only be imposed where reasonable and should be waived when overstaying is beyond the driver’s control (eg when treatment takes longer than planned, or when staff are required to work beyond their scheduled shift).0

I did actually go to PALS once I'd moved the car to the staff parking & the lady wasn't very helpful and just gave me the slippery shoulder.
She said speak to main reception/security. The guy at the desk their said to go back to him & he'll see what he can do so I may mention it to him.
I don't trust these stinking companies as far as I could hurl them so I plan on just sending the name, date/time of admission & the line which says Chemo for now.
Surely under GDPR I can request they delete the information post appeal? Whether they do it is another question.
I did actually put on the bottom of the first appeal to not contact me via email but at the same time I didn't get an address so perhaps this is why they replied?
I have to say I've had a few private ones before & this one seems to be pretty terrible, but given it's London how many people try it on?0 -
what did you say to PALs?
Did you mention the nhs principles, mentioned above? From the Plain Language Commission:
"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"0 -

I have always fund, when dealing with such matters, that it is always better to deal with this on paper. It may well get to court, and judges love paper trails.
Since I wrote post number 9 the law has changed and it is even more important that you complain to your MP.You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -

I didn't as I didn't know about it then. She fobbed it off as it was an external private company. I will go back in when we are there next & say that I have explained the situation & I am not comfortable sending these details across & that they need to get this cancelled. She said speak to main reception/security. I will be going back to PALs and getting them to write down why they can't help & then share that with the MP.0 -

This is the email address for PALS covering all the Imperial College Hospitals:
IMPERIAL.PALS@NHS.NET
I realise you have more important matters to attend to, but writing an email is easier than a visit and there's a good chance that a written complaint / strong request for cancellation will carry more weight. Plus you then have that record. It is something that is best done with all haste, if possible.
If you want to go in to see them as well, well why not? They say the squeaky door gets the most oil ....0 -
Forwarded the complaint to the PALS email address but not holding my breath on them doing anything.
One thing which has angered me so much is that they have e-mailed asking for more evidence, however the e-mail they sent it from is a no-reply e-mail without any information provided to actually send the information back to.
What a load of :mad::mad::mad::mad:0
