Anyone re-used a kitchen in a different location?

We are looking at moving our kitchen from the front to the back of the house.
The current kitchen was very expensive and is 10 years old but has got lots of life left in it. Most of it could be re-used I reckon.
Have you done it, and how did it go? Any bits of advice or recommendations? We wouldn't be DIY-ing so would need to find a kitchen fitter or should we be looking for a carpenter?

I've got a plan so cunning you could put a tail on it and call it a weasel.

Not as a kitchen but we salvaged our old kitchen wall units that our house purchasers were ripping out.
Now in place in our garage - 20 years on.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
Moved a kitchen from one house to another but it was DIY. Just got new worktops and the units lasted for years.0

I bought a second hand kitchen + appliances from ebay, the owner was building a massive extension and replacing it. It was only three years old and a second home so barely used.
Didn't have any problems really, it is still a current range at the manufcturer so I was able to get an additional unit to make what I had fit my space. I did all the work myself so didn't engage a fitter. The worktops needed a bit of shortening, which I did myself but I'm going to replace them and get someone in to do it.Proud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230 -
We recently moved house and replaced the existing kitchen. There was nothing wrong with it, it just wasn't to our tastes.
You will need a good joiner, and possibly new work tops.
Ours has been moved into the Garage and looks great - we used the same joiner team that fitted the new kitchen, so they already knew what we like etc. Considering its just in the garage it is exceptionally fitted :-)
Whoever removes the units needs to do it very "sympathetically"0 -
We bought one off the 'for sale' board in our local Morrisons and took it 100 miles to our (now sold) holiday rental cottage on the Welsh coast
{Edited by Forum Team} I put a link to some photos, but the 'forum team' have deleted the link!
We did fit new worktops though.0 -
I used to buy ex-display kitchens and sometimes second-hand kitchens when renovating houses here;UK; and France. Moved 16 times so far!!! If you treat it as just boxes and plan where to refit. the important thing to remember is carefully plan which way the cabinet doors open, you will probably have to replace the worktops to fit new layout.0

My sister bought her kitchen units and doors on Ebay for very little and it worked out well.
The main issue I see with moving it is that it may be unlikely that you'll have everything you need for the new kitchen in the old one, because of differences in layout. Fine if all you need is a new unit or two, but if you need to match the doors then you might have a problem.Solar install June 2022, Bath

My hubby fitted our old kitchen into my craft room for me. He painted it and it looks great. Had new worktops for it.0
