Hi all
Going to undertake a massive building project and total refurb of a house. Obviously including kitchen.
My question is would it be better/cheaper/easier to buy a fitted kitchen from one of the many providers or buy the cabinets, white goods, work tops all separately.
I'd imagine it would be cheaper to buy the components individually as you can shop around for the best deals on each, but would require a lot more work as I'll have to the design all my self.
Would be interested in what everyone thinks.
Also I am interested in glass counter tops, does anyone have experience of these, how much do they generally cost?

Bought mine and installed myself from https://www.diy-kitchens.com nearly 10 years ago and its as good as new although I have wooden doors that diy-kitchens don't supply anymore. Worktops, sinks and taps came from other on-line retailers.
The units come preassembled unless you need otherwise and come in many different sizes with good value plinths, cornices and pelmets.
Large choice of cabinet colours to match doors so you don't need end of run panels.

I should add that Diy-kitchen give a lot of information about their doors so you can find doors with solid wood frames with veneer centres.
There are quite a few posters on this forum that also recommend DK and have even driven 3 hours to see their showroom in Yorkshire. But you can always get samples sent to you for a nominal price.0 -
We’ve ordered from DIY kitchen. I was prepared to order the quartz worktop separately but in fact it worked out far cheaper to buy as part of the package with diy.Determined to save and not squander!

Kitchen and worktop from DIY Kitchens. Their worktop supplier are Natural Stone Surfaces. Prices for their quartz local guys couldn't get anywhere near. Appliances from Currys, JL, etc whoever is the cheapest. Rads from wayfair or somewhere like that. We had our tiles from CTD Tiles.
Glass worktops? Just get quartz or something like that. Quartz is awesome.0
