Historic New Car Prices?
Where is the best place to look for new car prices covering the last 10-15 years?
Trying to figure out how prices have risen so quickly.
Is this all down to the rise PCP of deals.........."oh it's only another £20/month , that's not too bad" and up go the prices year on year.
I presume the manufacturers will be blaming legislation.

Have you any evidence that prices have risen "so quickly"?
I've seen a figure of a 38.1% rise in the average new car price over the decade to 2018, or 3.25% per year. That doesn't seem excessive, bearing in mind that
1. With each model change, cars tend to be "improved", and
2. The economy has improved over the period, meaning many prople will have traded up to more expensive models.0 -

Inflation calculator shows inflation at 33% over that 10 years to 2018. Not sure if that includes the rise in VAT from 15% to 20%.
Going back further, A Golf GTi was £10548 in 1988, that would make it £27800 in 2018, but it’s £25845 now.0 -
New prices haven't risen quickly. The new price of a Mondeo today is within £1000 of what my 9 year old one was when it was new. The price of second hand ones though has risen, an equivalent to what I paid for mine at 2 years old is now £3000 more. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
