How to set up automatic direct debit through PayPal to take money each month from my Tesco bank?

I'd like to set up PayPal so it takes £1 from my linked Tesco bank account automatically each month (ie: a direct debit).

I've been trying to work out how to do this but not been successful.

Could someone help guide me step by step please? Thanks

According to numerous previous posts on this subject, it can't be automated and has to be done manually each month....

Thanks. So if done manually, is this still accepted by Tesco bank as a direct debit do you know?
  • No, since it's not a direct debit payment being made

Yes if you 'pull' money from your bank account to Paypal it will be done by DD.

... and don't pull as little as £1. Twerps doing this have caused other organisations to stop what you - and the rest of - rely on.

Make it at least a £10 pull.

It definitely IS a direct debit payment. I've done it numerous times and both at the Paypal end and at the current account end it is shown as a direct debit payment.

It is taken as a direct debit, as others have said you need to log on and add money to your PayPal account from one of your linked accounts and the payment takes around five days to be debited so don't do it too late in the month.

The only other way is to make a small payment via eBay or a website that allows you to pay via PayPal which will also take funds via DD.

This option can be done automatically, if you use paypal to pay for a monthly subscription.
