New Lloyds Debit card activation

Hey Everyone,
I hope it isn't a problem to ask my question in the credit card forum.

My question is related to a new debit card that Lloyds Bank sends every 3 years. Can I activate my new debit card online or I can only activate it by using my new card in the UK?

I don't recall my Lloyds card needing activating, but usually debit cards are activated by either a successful Chip and PIN transaction, or done thru something via online banking

You may have to unlock the PIN at an ATM but like other posters I don't think you can activate the card as such.

agree with all of those above.. a replacement card doesn't usually need to be activated. if using for purchases you will need to enter your pin occasionally, not just contactless. and i'd be concerned if you mean that the card has arrived in the UK and is then being forwarded to you in another country, without Lloyds knowing.
