URGENT!! Secure a Space - permit shown/no windscreen pcn yet fined £120

Read the newbies stickies and copied the appeal template.

Background:
Car was found parked in a residential street with private signage overnight, they had a permit on show. The Keeper did not find a windscreen parking notice charge. They didn't know about this. 28 days later, a fine for £120 came through the post. The letter was from Parking Collection Services - on behalf of Secure a Space.

Keeper called up the debt collection agency  and was told their permit was expired however there is no date on the permit to indicate that. Could they see the reference number and find out? Still, this is where we are at. I have not seen the permit as I am not either the keeper nor driver.

According to the stickies, the Keeper should now appeal online. It has been 46 days so far from original date of PCN but only 10 days from the £120 fine.

What do? Should I edit the template to suit the situation?

For goodness sake, why do you expect a response in just half an hour!?

No. Use the template as is. Do they claim to have left a windscreen ticket? As this is the first notice, it fails POFA and keeper liability anyway.

Why on Earth is this marked URGENT!!, and bump? bump? bummmmp (whatever those exclamation and question marks are meant to represent), especially on a Sunday evening when many regulars take a breather?

If you find the very few volunteers here don't march exactly and smartly to your drum beat, I suggest you contact the MSE moderators and ask for a refund of your subscription - you have a 7-day cooling off period.

  • The keeper needs to not be phoning debt collectors, the PPC or anyone of the sort.

Posts 1 and 3 on the NEWBIES thread are your current friends for walking through this.

Your story would be good as to why you are being scammed

    "Read the newbies stickies"

And still talk about a £120 fine, I suggest you read again!
  • Unfortunately you appear to have upset the regulars with your impatience.
Their knowledge and experience are what you need.

Your situation is no more urgent than any of the others pursued by the scammers - so calm down and don’t panic.

I would be inclined to add to the template appeal that a valid permit was clearly displayed.

In the meantime I would find out who is the landowner to request cancellation as advised in the NEWBIES and who issues the permits.

At 'ignore the debt collector' stage, there is no need for any thread, if a person has read the NEWBIES thread. No phoning debt collectors. Ignore them.

This is very clear in the 4th post of the sticky thread and needs no repeating.
