Hi
I wonder if anyone knows if you retain your existing meter numbers when switching to smart meters? I'm assuming this is
the case but just wanted to check.
Many thanks

Your account number remains the same but the meter number is unique to the meter.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

Not sure what you mean?
The serial number? Obviously not.
The reads? No, they will start from 0 Elexc and all the 9's (gas) (but be billed from 0, this allows for commision).0 -
The meter point number (MPAN) stays the same as does your account number with your supplier, however the meter serial number is unique to the meter - thats why its a serial numberNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0

I'm a little confused I'm referring to the number that appears on your bill and is held on the database used by energy companies when setting up new accounts. Why would I be interested in the serial number?
Thanks0 -

If you didn't like the answers that you got then you should have been more precise and asked the question differently, rather than an open one with several possible answers.
