Bought a Sony TV KDL43WF663 last week and when it was set up the Chromecast worked perfectly - it's an external device, not built in.

Tried to use the Chromecast today from the computer for the first time since I set it up, and just can't get it to work at all.

Everything on the TV itself is fine, it's only the Chromecast.

There's a message on the computer screen saying it's casting, and the TV model number comes up as well as the Chromecast number, but nothing else on the TV except whatever TV programme is showing.

I've looked at the booklet under screen mirroring but I'm none the wiser.

Can anyone give me an idea of what is going wrong or will I have to press one of my grandkids into service?

Press the input button (top left on mine) and go all the way to the bottom, there should be an option for screen mirroring.

BTW I bought the Sony KDL-50W755C 3 years ago and it's worth the effort to set the screen up rather than rely on the defaults.

What HDMI port on the TV have you plugged the Chromecast into? Have you selected that input on the TV? How is the Chromecast getting power?
