I checked some posts here and many people know about the consume rights well and please can you help me.
We got scammed in Malta. On returning of the car they said there were damages and been resprayed although the car is the same condition. I called the police, they heard me calling and cancelling the €800 they demanding. Instead charged me €250 for deep cleaning where there were sand only need a simple hoovering. I called them the day before they told me no need to clean it. We paid as had to catch the flight. They signed off the paperworks. Only mentioned deep cleaning charge on it.
Next day they emailed said they found new damages been resprayed and told me to pay €1400. I thought I have the paperworks so I ignored the email. Then they charged me €900 from my credit card and threatening me to pay the rest otherwise take me to court. My question is can they really do that fm after inspected it signed it. How would I know if there are damages. I'm not car expert I can't tell any spray jobs done. I have contacted my bank straight away and they have opened the dispute. What's my chances to get the money back?
Many thanks. Really appreciate the help.
