Security check problem with Raisin/Shawbrook Bank

Raisin/Shawbrook Bank are an umbrella facility allowing you open savings accounts with other banks with excellent interest. I opened up an account, transferred some money but it bounced back. Raisin support said the security check had failed because my current account bank from which I transfered the money, only provided an initial capital for my Christian name. Support asked me to provide a PDF of my passport or driving license and PDF of a bank statement where my name is shown in full. Trouble is no accounts of mine give a full name on bank statements. Also I cannot find any bank or building society that does. I am lost. Any ideas? I don't know how Raisin ever get any customers to get through this hoop.

I hold a Raisin/Starling account and before that held the old-style Raisin account, linked to a bank that DOES NOT provide my full name with transfers.

The only bank I could find that displays my full first and last name is Nationwide, as judged from inter-account transfers to other banks.

Raisin is just Raisin isn't it? Shawbrook are just one of their many partner banks?

I opened an account with Raisin and paid in with no trouble- as have many people on here.

The only time I had a similar situation was opening an account with Fineco, the Italian bank. They took ID from my passport and driving licence, which both have my full name inc middle. When I tried to pay in from one of my UK accounts without my middle name, it bounced back. But I put that down to Italian banks not understanding a middle name is rarely used in practice. First Christian name on the other hand is widely used, not sure why yours isn't on your bank docs..

I am still trying to get a resolution with Raisin. My previous efforts at making a deposit because of "name check error". Support said it was because my bank did not provide my full name. I dont think any banks provide full nsmes so either Raisin's software has screwed up in my case or they wouldnt get any customers.

If is almost 4 weeks now. I have given a scan of my passport and driving license (which gives my full name and address). Now I have just them a PDF of my lastest bank statement showing the aborted tranfers and giving my name but with an initial for the christian name.

Raison are a frontend for Shawbroo

I meant Raisin are a front end for Shawbrook Bank so they are just a go between.

Yes I think you are right. Starling promote themselves as technologically superior to other banks as they can do their software from scratch while old banks have to keep bolting any new software onto clunky legacy software so they say.

The point being made - which I made before - is that your thread title and opening post are incorrect. Your problem is nothing to do with Shawbrook. It is to to with Raisin, and possibly with Starling. But you are not having any problems with Shawbrook.
