Hi All
I am buying a semi detached property where a chimney breast has been removed on the first floor but is not well supported in the loft, some builders say that they will not use Gallows Brackets, does anyone know if you can use them? if not why are you not able to use them?
Thank You

What does your surveyor say? ask your solicitor if the removal of the chimney has been signed off by the council, as it should have been.0

The chimney breast was removed in 1984 before any permission was needed. The surveyor says I need to get it supported0

Have a read of this page. It is explains when gallows brackets can used. https://www.labc.co.uk/news/how-to-get-it-right-removing-chimney-right-way-video-showing-wrong-wayThe comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0
