Hi all,
I’ve just moved into a converted ground floor flat in a listed building. It was converted in 2008, built in 1904.
What date do I put down on forms for contents insurance? As building insurance not needed of course.
Thanks!

Depends on the question, how old is the property then its 1904.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

Yes on contents policies, they mostly ask for “what is the age of your building?” So are you of the mind I would put the original building date, not the date the flats were created within the building?0

Yes the answer is 1904.0

I've found that an odd question for the Insurance Companies to ask - what difference does it make when insuring contents ?
More relevant I thought was the ages of the occupants.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
Old buildings are more prone to fire losses.0

But younger households and the more people in the property are more prone to damage, loss of property ................. Older people, single person households less so ??Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0
