Premium economy worth it for 10+ hour night flight?

It's definitely worth it.We use it when travelling to Goa:D"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

We haven't traveled anything but business class to Vegas for 15 years now, but do it right and it won't cost you anymore than a PE seat. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0

We go long haul every couple of years and if it's my bedtime I sleep. I'm lucky that I'm small so instead of being cramped I need to take a foot rest to stop me sliding off my seat and landing on the floor. We have looked at business class but the price would restrict the times we get over to visit family.0

An exit row seat in Economy is normally cheaper than PE.0

Thanks all, sounds like it would be worth giving it a go to know for sure. Of course, knowing my luck the first time I pay for premium economy, the flight will probably be half empty and there'll be full rows in economy to lie across (that's happened on about 2 of the 30 flights I've done, and it's been brilliant).
I've tried alcohol and all kinds of non-prescription sleeping medications btw - to no avail. As for paying extra for a bulkhead seat, I've seen some very grumpy looking individuals who've done this only to find all their extra legroom is consumed by people queueing/loitering around the toilet (and one guy doing yoga on my last flight!) - moral of the story: never pay extra to choose your seat in economy, because you never know who you'll be sat next to (in my experience, your immediate neighbours on the plane are far more important than seat location).0 -
I would probably go the business route if the connection is reasonable. I’ve done just that for my winter break this year. Direct was about £700 in economy but that landed at 03:30 which would have meant virtually no sleep for a couple of days. Lufthansa via Frankfurt were £950 economy but with better timings but business was ‘only’ £1,450. I don’t consider myself particularly rich but that price is within my budget and worked out at around £20 an hour extra.0

Where are you flying to?0

Depends on the price. I paid an extra £100 or so on the way back from Orlando for Premium with Virgin and it was so worth it. I got a foot rest, more room - so no fighting for the arm rest you have one each! More leg room and better food.
I can't sleep on flights in general, I didn't really sleep on this flight, but I was a lot comfier than economy on the same flight a few months previously. I would love to do business/upper class so I could lie flat, but I can't afford it!
I would say try it if the price is right - I wouldn't pay more than a couple hundred extra for premium economy (with Virgin at least)0 -
Premium Economy seats with a calf rest are much better. The air quality on newer aircraft such as A350 A380 B787 is better as well. Which route are you flying?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Decide your airline then work their frequent flyer programme for all its worth. Definitely better to travel in business class. For me an indirect business flight would be better than direct prem economy.
Another thing to consider is just upgrading one way to business and suffer prem economy on the returnI'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
