I’m new to all of this but looking at this thread I have received the same letter (18th Feb 2019). £160 fine with next stage court and CCJ if no payment within 14days.
I just want to check if it’s still the case I ignore all of this unless it’s an official court letter? Or has the law changed and am I going to lose this and end up paying hundreds of pounds?
Thank u

Yes the law has changed - it changed in 2012.
It sounds like you have received a debt collectors letter.
Post #4 of the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread offers comprehensive guidance on how to deal with debt collectors letters.
Can I please ask that you delete your earlier posts? Thanks.0 -
Seemingly you posted on someone else's thread and have now started one of your own, however, we have no idea what you are talking about. Who is the PPC, did you do an initial appeal, did you appeal to POPLA, have you received LBC/LBA/LBCCC or court claim form? Do not ignore LBC's do not ignore court papers DO ignore debt collectors but save the letters.0

Sorry about previous post, on existing thread. I really am new to this! So the letter is from Trace Legal. I ignored previous letters from UKCPM. Now Trace are involved and threatened County Court action. I have 14 days to pay £160 before court action.
Previous threads from 2018 state not to reply unless official court letter, is that still the case?0 -
Ok thanks. Do I just search that in Forum? Do u want me to delete my posts from this thread?0

Right, now you are sorted here, you have a problem with two money scammers ....
1: UKCPM
2: TRACE
UKCPM will ticket anything that moves, although in your case you were still.
When you don't fall for the scam, they get the hump and bring in scary cloud dreamers Trace ? DEBT COLLECTORS
They lie about the powers they have (POWERLESS)
Amazing that these cloud dreamers think you will get a CCJ just because they send you a letter fully of lies. :rotfl::rotfl:
Next step will be the incompetent Gladstones solicitors and to comply with the law, they must send you a Letter before claim which gives you 30 days to respond and including proof of their claim.
The £60 add-on is just a scam0 -
Post 4 of the NEWBIES thread covers the debt collectors process (i.e. ignore, don't bin, but ignore).
Have a look over post #2 of the NEWBIES thread, as this will show you what a real LBC looks like.Natwest OD - Start: £1,500 Current: £1,500 | Creation Loan - Start: £2,152.33 Current: £2,082.90 | Barclaycard CC - Start: £5,242.42 Current: £5,416.45 | Novuna Loan - Start: £8,598.43 Current: £8,366.04 | Tesco CC - Start: £9,420.22 Current: £9,885 | Northridge Car - Start: £15,584 Current: £15,017
