puzzle books

Just having our annual cull of toys before Xmas..and getting rid of all the party bag pressies and broken stuff!
I just wanted to vent about puzzle books. My kids have had many of these over the years from well meaning people, and today I have finally thrown them all out.
What is the point of these things? They aren't a good book or a good puzzle. You can't put the pieces in a box, and you can't read the book without the pieces falling out.
I can't even recycle them as the cardboard is laminated.
So after several hours of trying to put the bits together, and finding i'm missing one piece from each (at least) they have all gone in the bin!
