Does anyone do Postcode Lottery or National Lottery by DD

I am beginning to think the £20 + £10 a month isn't worth it. But then I think what if I win. The psychology of it has taken over....what iff

  • I do! I’m too scared to cancel. Guaranteed if I did, my postcode or numbers would win! :rotfl:
  • exactly - so I pay £240 a year lucky dip lottery and £120 a year postcode lottery. - I can't cancel

As an alternative try Premium Bonds by DD. Minimum is £50 pm but you get chances to win prizes or your money back.

It's the money back part that pays for Xmas.
Unlike some here, I am not omniscient. If I am wrong correct me. I won't take offence.

The law is like an ocean - have a swim but don't drown.
  • Put that money in a pot and don’t check the numbers, then you’ll never know that you haven’t won!

Think what you could get with that £360!

Yes I do the Postcode Lottery by DD for £10 per month, as like some too afraid to cancel in case.......
I'm not greedy though £300k will do me nicely:D
    :j
  • Realistically your chances of winning are so small if you can afford to pay the dd then no harm is taking a gamble but if your struggling and cant afford the dd i would cancel!
  • I don’t but my mam does. She quite often wins £10, and last year she won £2000 so it’s been worth it for her! By comparison I don’t do any lottery stuff because I’ve never won anything ever.

    It's £25 now :)
Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.
  • Agreed, the £360 is really my annual tv licence, car tax, sim only contract as well a months council tax! Thats frightening to think of it that way, albeit I can afford the DD but want to maybe cut back but not loose out. Decisions Decisions.
  • I’m not going to judge because I had a major gambling problem for years, but that’s exactly how I know it’s a mugs game, including the lottery which has far far worse odds than things like slots or FOBTs or horse racing that I bet you wouldn’t touch, am I right?

Sorting out your finances, getting good deals, cutting interest rates on debts etc. will put far more cash in your pocket in just a year or two than you are ever realistically going to win in your entire life.
