CPM parking charge Might be too late for appeal

Hi,
So I’ve been a bit of an idiot.
Received this charge from CPM through the post dated 20.1.18 and when I looked at the photographic evidence they have put online the picture of the sign is totally unreadable.
As such I intended to appeal but life has been hectic and I forgot about it, really annoyed with myself. It says appeals within 21 days. Obviously I have missed that.
Can anyone advise on the best course of action from here. Not sure if I should send one anyway or what really. Also not sure if it makes much of a difference but it is a lease vehicle. Thanks in advance for any help.

  • Please post details of where and why this PCN was issued.

Also read the NEWBIES it guides you through the process and will help you understand the game you have entered.
  • It was in an Iceland car park, ‘2-18 whalebone’ Is what is stated on the letter and it says reason is ‘vehicle timed out’
I did have a look through just wasn’t sure on this circumstance of kissing the appeal deadline what the best way forward was.
  • It was in chadwell heath, greater London.

Have you complained to Iceland yet?

Point out to them that you can no longer afford to shop there now that you have found out how expensive it is to park there.

Tell them that all your friends and family will be avoiding their store now that they know.
  • First politely complain to the store manager, hopefully you can prove you are a regular customer.
He should be able to cancel.

If he dithers ask for the email of the CEO - this might focus his attention.

  • Sorry I’m not being clear. I’m not sure it is owned by Iceland it is next to it. The store was closed and I was using it for a local restaurant for a Christmas work do, I hadn’t been there before. The staff advised if I parked in a bay without a number attached it was ok, which I did. It’s hard to tell exactly what I have done wrong as I cannot see the terms in the picture of the sign they have loaded online, it’s blurry you can’t read it even if you zoom.

There is no appeal that works (cancels a scam PCN) anyway, with any IPC firm.

That does not mean we ever, ever, tell people to pay these!

Search the forum for UKCPM. Please read at least TWENTY threads, if not more.

Keep all letters and get ready to defend a claim, please don't panic. We win them 99% of the time; there is no risk of a CCJ even if you lose in the end, you'd just pay about £150.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:

Don't let that stop you complaining to Iceland. :D

What have you got to lose?
  • You need to return to the site and get your own photos of the signs as these form the basis of the alleged contract you have entered.

If it was dark when you arrived don’t use flash - ideally taken from the driver’s seat.
Check all signs to see if they are easily visible.

Whilst there try to ascertain the landowner perhaps ask the restaurant.
It would seem that the the staff are not helping patrons with this apparent false info.

You may find that their blurred photos work in your favour - if you can’t read the sign neither will a judge be able to.
