We do via Cavendish as it worked out cheaper.

Basic compared to some others and compared to Fidelity direct I think but is fine for what we want - choice of funds with regular monthly contributions.

Easy to eliminate. Excels at virtually nothing.

I dont think that is the case. HL is well known for being expensive. It does have good software though.

Does this work the same paying in the £2880, getting tax relief and then withdrawing, leaving enough into keep account open.

    Do they charge withdrawal fees?

Or are you using this as an investment?

  • I wonder if "are" should be replaced with "at"??

My SIPP is with Fidelity put there by my IFA. Every time dunstonh comments about them, my heart sinks:cry:

Platforms are a bit like buying a car. We all buy different cars.

I had to do a top up on Fidelity this week for someone we havent moved off them yet (almost got everyone off). The system is just so clunky compared to others. They have spent the last decade saying improvements are coming.

I spoke to an IFA last year who said he liked Fidelity. However, it was within his comfort zone. What really did it for me was a client who had Fidelity unwrapped holdings and they could not tell me with the income data on accumulation units for someone that needed to use as much of their CGT allowance as possible.

So, whilst I personally do not like FNW, it is a personal opinion based on my experience of using a half dozen or so other platforms. Others may well love it. Some may prefer it as it is their comfort zone and have got used to it.

  • i have had no problems, good telephone support but their website to manage my sipp is very poor
  • I have (most of) my pension with Fidelity.
With >£250k combined (pension + investments inside/outside ISA), the platform charge drops from 0.35% to 0.20%, one of the cheapest in the market.
I agree that the pension management tool in their website is awkward. It seems to be separate from the investment management tool, and a lot of menu items are different. They have been talking about harmonising them for a few years, but so far all words and no action.

Just to put it in perspective, there are worse pension providers. AEGON only charges 0.21% with a cap of £250k, but I decided not to move to them because from my dealings with them, they do not seem to know what they are doing.

Yes. I use it for a non-OIEC portfolio.

Ummm, I have mixed feelings towards Fidelity SIPP. If you do a search for my username and the word "Fidelity" you will probably find my posts on the subject. :D
