Why doesn't my phone ring?

I have a S8 on O2.
Very frequently, when I am called my phone does not ring. Whoever is calling me then texts me to say it is going straight to answer phone.
I then get a text alert from O2 to say I have missed calls from that person.
I have full signal in 4G area, it seems random when it happens and not just at home but out as well.
Any ideas why this is?

Even if it is on silent, it does not light up when it is ringing, it is almost as if when the phone is off in that it goes straight to voice mail. I also get no missed calls on the 'phone' app so for all intents and purposes, no one has rang me.
If I jusdt don't hear the phone and it DOES ring, I get a notification at the top, and also a "1" over the phone icon, with this issue I get neither and the first I know of anyone calling is that they text me to tell me.
Intermittent issue, not in DND. Even if the phone is right in front of me, I can get nothing until a text saying I have missed calls.0 -

Just checked, nothing obvious but it is an intermittent problem.
My girlfriend tried to call 3 times earlier, could not get through. I then called her and we spoke, I explained the issue and she tried again, and got straight through.
I then got the text from O2 to say I had missed calls from her.0 -

Possibly, where I am sitting now I get 2 out of 4 bars of 4g coverage.0 -

Do you have WiFi Calling enabled?
If so, see what happens when it's on, and if the calls come through, sounds like a coverage issue. It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -
I believe you may have assistive touch turned on, this means that you can have your phone not ring when you are closed to it.
Assistive Touch.
On the Apps screen, tap Settings > Device > Accessibility > Dexterity and Interaction.
Tap the Assistant Menu Switch to toggle the switch to “on”. The Assistant Menu icon will appear at the bottom right of the screen (at which point it can be moved around).Remaining Debt - starting - £1609.44/current - £1457.730
