Schedules for IHT400

Stupid question, but should I staple the separate schedules or do HMRC like it all unstapled...feels very unorganised sending all these separate forms in one big pile.
Also if doing IHT400, can I apply for probate online? someone mentioned an IHT421 form?

When I sent my IHT400 and schedules, I kept the forms separate but stapled the sheets for each individual form (I sent 12 forms in total including IHT421). You send the IHT421 to HMRC with the IHT400 and schedules.
I'm not 100% sure about applying for probate online, I'm pretty I could've done it online but decided to hand deliver the application to the probate office.0
