Warning: Amex and Sainsbury's bank

I got the Sainsbury's credit card so that I could transfer a balance from American Express. However, now they tell me that they do not accept balance transfers from Amex (nor from TSB). How annoying!

Any recommended work-arounds that do not involve paying a BT fee?

(Just for the record, I do have the Santander card that does accept transfers from AmEx, but I have already used up the credit limit.)

  • Check many of the other available lenders and see if they accept Amex.

So you have 2 card with maxed out limits?

Transfer the balance from Santander to Sainsbury. Then you will have zero balance on Santander and can transfer amex to it? Not sure what the fee situation would be so might be a non-starter.
