Cancelled Cheap Energy Club Switch

I switched to the E.ON - Fix 2 Year MSE Collective Feb 2019 but changed my mind and cancelled it 2 days after clicking the switch button, as I want to opt for the new Octopus 12M Fixed February 2019 v3 instead. E.ON have emailed to confirm they have cancelled my switch. However, on my Cheap Energy Club it still says "Switch in Progress" so I can't switch to Octopus. Any advice much appreciated. Thank you.

Look at the FAQ in the CEC pages.

If you’ve cancelled your switch and it’s still showing as ‘in progress’ on your Cheap Energy Club account, it’s likely the supplier hasn’t let us know about the cancellation. You can contact us directly by emailing energyclub@moneysavingexpert.com with your account details, and we’ll remove the switch. You’ll then be able to compare and switch again.

The usual reason is that the energy company (EON) hasn’t notified MSE Cheap energy club of the cancellation. It takes some time to all filter though I believe. I had a similar situation of a “stuck switch” and simply emailed the Cheap Energy Club where they adjusted the status accordingly.
  • Thank you for your helpful information. I have now emailed CEC and will wait for them to update my switch status.
