Switching to the new EDF energy deal. Help please.
Hi,
Please excuse my stupidity here but can someone explain what the below means please as my mind does not appear to figure this out?
"Your application to switch your energy supply to EDF Energy - Simply Fixed Jun20v2 is now in progress. We've run the numbers and we reckon you'll be paying around £-147 less per year......"
I seem to be having a brain fart right now, apologies.
Thanks in advance

The £147 will be against a standard tariff - not against what you are paying now.
Don't forget that the DD is not cast in stone - you will pay for what you actually consume.
Are you up to date with your present supplier re meter readings ? Is your account in credit or debit?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
1. I hope you recognise the details of the tariff, and that you have made an application to switch.
2. Ignore the sentence about running the numbers. The tariff that you have selected will have terms for a standing charge p/day and unit rate for electricity and/or gas p/kWh. From this you can calculate how much you would pay if you consumed the same amount of energy as you have in the last 12 months. This will probably be more than you were billed in the last year. Those are the facts.
3. If you think you shouldn't be making the switch then you have a cooling down period with the right to cancel the application.0 -
Yup. I've found all tariffs across large and small suppliers have gone up by at least £100 on last year's prices.0
