  • hi there; mind if I ask a quick question??

I've been using Quidco a little since August last year; and have about £8 ish so far. I'd like to give the 'list' from this thread a go. Was just curious about he 'free trials' cashback; how does it work?
You sign up for a trial; do they take your card details? And do you get your cashback even if you cancel it when the trial finishes? And if you cancel it before it finishes, can they take your cashback back by saying you didn't complete the trial???
If anyone can answer this I'd be so grateful x

As long as the cashback is for a trial membership i.e. doesn't specify that it must be for a paid membership, then you'll get it e.g. Experian £6 and Audible, an audio book site, £4, whereas some sites have different categories of membership, eg some dating sites have a free basic membership that gives a few quid cashback but a lot more if you take their premium like £20 a month service.
I don't think they'd cancel the first type if you then cancel in the free trial period, at least none of mine have been, but you'd only get the smaller amount if you didn't join up to the paid membership in the second scenario I've given.

With free trials for services that you would have to pay for if you continue with them, they take your card details and will debit your card if you don't cancel, so it's important to cancel within the period given and make a note of when you did in case you ahve any problems with them saying you hadn't cancelled - keep a copy of your email cancelling, or a note of the date and time you phoned and the person you spoke to's name if you call to cancel.
I've never had a problem with this in all the free triels I've done, but it's just a good idea as a precaution, or maybe I'm just a little paranoid!

    Hope this helps.

Ebay is extremely random with their tracking I've found! Their cashback is so small that i doubt you could raise a ticket as you can't for amounts under £1.

    Thanks for this.
You're right - they are really random, cos in Jan they did track amounts for me in the 50p region but now they're not.
    Oh well..
