Hundreds of Tesco shoppers who were trapped for hours in store's gridlocked car park due to broken traffic lights are sent £70 fines for overstaying

The PPC must have thought "it's Christmas again"
Did the PPC have alarm bells ringing when their dodgy ANPR overloaded ... of course not ???
TESCO lost customers that day but are still stupid enough to use the scammers ..... Aldi and Lidl are just down the road Tesco ?

Aldi and Lidl are just down the road Tesco ?Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

We all know that don't we.
So, what is the situation in SA ..... ?
None of this shiite. Parking wardens at retail parks are there to help you. Big beaming smile, guide you into a spot, keep an eye on the vehicles in their section of the car park, help you unload shopping into the boot, take your trolley back after guiding you out of your parking slot, then thanking you sincerely for a couple of Rands tip (15-20p).
On-street Parking wardens (in official livery) patrol short sections of roadway and approach you on parking, asking how long you wish to park. Pay for your duration - a few Rands - overstay and they'll collect the difference on return to your car. Very civilised.
Even speeding tickets are only about £20.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

True. But there is also the unofficial "self appointed" wardens that materialise whenever you park your car on any ordinary road who will protect your car for a few pence. Protect from whom. Why, the rest of their gang!
I actually got a speeding charge months later on my credit card for the hire car I used when on holiday in South Africa. Tgat was very reasonable too!0 -
when people stop abusing their car parks to go on holiday, to work, to the dentist/hospital/bank/restaurant/whatever.
i work for a company that reluctantly engages the services of an enforcement ("scammer") company because unfortunately there are too many members of the general public who are only too willing to take the pee.0 -
"Tesco today said all parking charges given to drivers stuck in the traffic have been cancelled...
'We issued 27 penalty charge notices at our Salisbury Extra store for that day, all of which have now been cancelled.'"
So not hundreds of people at all.
And not a Scam.
Not even a story.
Just a waste of time thread.
Spam, not Scam!0 -
