Since vidahost were taken over by tsohosts the reliability of their service has got worse.
Has anyone else noticed this?
Examples:
1) Email forwarders randomly stop working
2) Site runs slowly and in an attempt to resolve it they make all sites on the node read-only whilst they "fix" it, They dont tell you they're doing this, you discover it for yourself. They say its OK, your site will carry on working, and thats true if your site doesnt do any writing to files, simple read-only sites will work. Ive seen this happen this several times.
3) php mail() has stopped working and they wont fix it, they say, thats too bad, use SMTP mail (which I now do) but my point here is that php mail() on one site/node works fine but the exact same code on another site/node doesnt (but was working once upon a time)
They used to be reliable but now Im thinking of moving my sites away at next renewal.
