Mortgage advice after IVA
I had an IVA together with my ex-husband from 2008-2013. It was completed and fully discharged and has not appeared on my personal credit report for several years now. We have since divorced and I have focused on rebuilding my credit, succesfully getting credit cards and a loan over the years. My new partner and I are now looking at buying a house together. My partner already owns a house with his ex wife which he plans to sell later this year. We plan to get some equity out of his house to use as a 10-15% deposit and get a morrgage between us for the remainder. We plan to use a mortgage broker but not necessarily one that specialised in bad credit mortgages. Since my IVA was so longer ago would it still be advisable to get specialist advice?
