Please HELP, holiday insurance

Myself and wife have booked to go away at the end of May this year, we have not paid the full amount yet this is due at the end of March, having an issue getting travel insurance, my wife suffered from a bit of anxiety which we are upfront about when applying for insurance the difficult bit comes when you tell them about mother in law with vascular dementia and my dad with Parkinson’s now neither of them are travelling with us, but we’re concerned what would happen should they pass away either before or during our holiday, we want to make sure we are covered. Can someone please give me some information, thank you

You won't be able to get cover against them passing away from any pre existing conditions (or anything related to them) - or deteriorating meaning you cannot go away

So you need to decide whether you are happy to continue with the holiday knowing cancellation or curtailment because of the pre existing conditions will have to be at your expense or cancel now and presumably only lose your deposit

Take things as they come and don't put your holiday off - you need to recharge your batteries.

Are you the only family ?
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

I think that most other people would arrange holidays that are not very expensive, and/or book flexible arrangements.

The psychiatric condition can probably be covered.

Google travel insurance with anxiety to find options

If you mean regarding the possibility of cancellation/curtailment due to the death of relatives, then you need to decide if the cost of an emergency return is something that you are prepared to risk by taking your trip.

Presumably should you be prevented from traveling due to any deterioration you can swallow the cancellation cost

We were in a similar situation for some years. Just booked holidays and crossed our fingers.

Did have to cancel a holiday last year due to parent's ill-health. Claimed on insurance, doctor wrote something illegible on the 'nature of illness causing cancellation' part of the insurer's claim form and on another part of the form, where it asked if there was any reason to believe the holiday would be cancelled at the time of booking, he wrote 'no'. Suspect that was our passport to success.

My parent had about ten pre-existing conditions, any one of which we expected the insurer to link to the illness causing us to cancel, but still the insurance paid out.
