Car business insurance

Hello my partner is named driver on my car policy for the usual s/d/p and commuting, recently her employer wants proof she has business insurance to travel to training courses , these are not at her normal place of work, they are out of her normal working hours and she can not claim mileage and uses her own car ... I thought it only might apply if you leave your workplace during work to train .. also she works various shifts and all days , hope that make sense ! Thanks in advance

They are correct if she is being paid for attending the training course. The Commuting part of a policy 9/10 times only covers you to a single place of work. I'm an agency worker and have to have business insurance as I can be working at different places on a day by day basis.

Good news is that the type she wants usually costs nothing extra although the insurer may charge an admin fee to make the change mid-policy. I would add business use on when you come to the next renewal and just put down something like 1000 miles.
