Best apps to manage your bank accounts and money

Hello MSE Forum Users,

I was just wondering what apps people recommended to manage their money? I have a number of bank accounts - Help to Buy, Current Account, Regular Saver x 2, normal savings account and it can be quite difficult to see what my overall balance in savings is, for example.

I don't really use my laptop so whilst I could use a normal excel spreadsheet, I would prefer to use an app as I am always on my phone.

Also, I have seen a number of apps where you spend and it rounds it up to put some more money into savings, would you recommend any particular apps? I'm not too sure how this works with a current account?

Thanks very much :D

I use Yolt for seeing all my account balances in one place. Money Dashboard is good too.

I use AceMoney, which is pretty much like MS Money but it's still supported.

I have tried Yolt and other apps, none of them can touch AceMoney / MS Money. To be fair though they do different things. Yolt would be the best of the new kind of apps IMO. Unfortunately, they lost all my account data during an upgrade and I am not going to do the set-up again as I have dozens and dozens of accounts.

I tried to use yolt but it didn't support all the accounts I have and those that did were giving me trouble. So I just use the apps from the banks.

It didn't have the most obvious use that I required either, to check every balance once a day to make sure I hadn't gone overdrawn on any of my current accounts.
  • I like clearcheckbook for this. Has rbe option to have multiple accounts but also see overall balance, budgeting, bills, reports on spending, and quite a lot more. Plus free.

This seems to be some sort of alternative to MS Money, with, I quote from their website: "No direct interfacing with financial institutions". It's not what the OP is looking for.
