Humax 9150t USB Wireless adapter

i have a Humax 9150T which disappointedly did not include an USB wireless adapter. If you purchase one from Humax it is over £20. Do you have to use a Humax branded USB wireless adapter to make it work or is there a cheaper comparable brand that will do the same job.

  • I don't believe you need to buy one specificly from Humax, they just want you to buy from them. If you are concerned look on amazon there are loads there that say they are Humax compatible, and for less than your £20. Good USB wireless dongles generally function well in most cases, whilst poor ones can be a problem.

    Yes, it has to be one of theirs.
    It's not a Windows computer, it only has the 'driver' to recognise its own wifi adaptor.

    It should have a USB port at the back to connect a WiFi dongle (compatible one), instead of the wired Ethernet connection.

    This manual suggests that the Humax PVR-9150T has neither USB nor Ethernet port - but it does have an RS-232C socket!

    I haven't checked the manual, but obviously if there is no USB port you can't have a USB dongle (I thought OP had checked this before even starting to look for a wifi dongle).

    Spot on Chino it doesn't have one. I also assumed the Op had checked that out .:o

    Sammy 58 I think this very basic box has reached the end of its useful life. Check out the Humax Refurbished site for some alternatives;
    https://www.humaxdirect.co.uk/refurbished.html

    HDR-1800T 320GB or HDR-2000T; both have ethernet sockets but no WiFi. They both have SCART and HDMI.
    You could run an Ethernet cable from your router (which is how I connect my HDR-1100S)

    Freeview Play Box: more channels: -
    FVP-4000T 500GB (Cappuccino colour)
    Has Ethernet/WiFi/HDMI.

    All Refurb Humax boxes come with a warranty.
    I think this job really needs
    a much bigger hammer.
