Sheesh... the standard of written English here is getting worse.

    You need PC2700 DDR SODIMM

    Funky Giraffe for RAM.

    SWISSBIT 512MB DDR PC2700 DDR333 Laptop SODIMM Memory RAM £22.99 + £2.50 postage.

    TRUMP 1GB DDR PC2700 DDR333 Laptop Notebook SODIMM Memory RAM £37.99 + £2.50 postage.

SWISSBIT 1GB DDR PC2700 DDR333 Laptop Notebook SODIMM Memory RAM £43.99 + £2.50 for postage.

Before you rush out to purchase more RAM, make sure that your Motherboard is compatible with 1GB RAM modules.

Most of your list is incompatible DDR2 or PC memory.

I think you need the old DDR memory, so the last one in the list should be compatible, except it probably needs to be PC2700 spec. Crucial says these PC2700 modules are compatible with the Dell 2200.

However, you're not going to get DDR stuff for as cheap as DDR2, unless you look on eBay that is - a search (don't go for anything greater than a single 1Gb module & stick to PC2700).

Kingston ValueRAM is fine for the majority of users. G

Edit: Beaten to it by Donnie - hope I don't get a telling off next!

    Oh no....I hope not. :D

I think I have too many incompetent people bothering me. So by the time I'm online, I've less patience than usual. :)

    Thanks guys

but donnie its a message forum not vellum with a quill. hence most people write in slang even me. I actually have a masters degree in english so when i want to, my written and spoken english more than passes muster.

but thanks again for the advice i am assuming funky giraffe is the place to go. heading there now

If you have a Masters Degree, you should show more consideration for your readers.

I certainly don't want to have to read gobbledegook.... especially when I'm trying to be helpful.

Seriously, read it back to yourself; "Ever recommend has been there is no substitute for ram so looked at kingston value ram like these"

So, less of the excuses. I don't believe you have a Master's Degree at all.

Anyway, have a look around before you decide, as there have been similar threads recently.
