Parking Compensation Query

Hi Everyone,
Looking for some advice here. I’ve got a season ticket (quarterly) at an APCOA station car park. This may get some hate but I don’t actually commute on the train, the car park is literally half the price of the council car park season tickets in my town so I park up and walk to my office.
Parking is always tight in the car park, if you don’t get there early enough there are no spaces but I generally do so I’m fine. However at the moment for the next 3-4 weeks there are repairs going on on the line and there is a bus replacement service. Because of this a) people are getting there much earlier and b) half the spaces are blocked off for staff to park, taxis to wait etc.
All this means that despite leaving the house 20 mins earlier than normal I’m still nowhere near getting a space. Looking at APCOA Ts and C’s I’m not getting any money back from them... they don’t guarantee a space for season tickets and because I pay quarterly if I cancelled my ticket I wouldn’t get any money back because of 1 month notice and only getting complete months repaid.
Is there anyone I can claim money back from as all this is caused by the works? I’m currently effectively paying for parking twice each day as I am having to park elsewhere and if I’m honest I can’t afford the c£300 extra it will cost me over the next month.
Any advice appreciated.

You might not like it but unfortunately it's the only solution.0 -
Yep, you paid for a ticket with no g'tee of a space
You could potnetially argue they have caused this, by blocking off half the spaces for forseeable events and this is a reduciton in the service offering, but dont expect it to get anyewhere
So, get there earlier.0 -
2 things come to mind apart from get there earlier.
1) park in the council park
2) get a bike.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -
You could sue the Train Operator and APCOA, in my opinion, for your losses. You have paid for parking and they have removed half the spaces.
I'd consider sending a Letter Before claim, itemising your costs. Name both as liable and see who blinks first.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
