Heating comes on with 'water only' setting?

Hi all hope someone can help.
My boiler often comes on when the stat drops below the required setting but the dial on the boiler is set to 'water only' setting. I then have to turn the stat down to turn off the heating.
Its an Ideal Logic C30 combi boiler with a Danfoss wireless stat.
Any ideas what could be at fault here please?
Thanks

Faulty diverter valve. Very common with combi boilers.0

I may have misunderstood your initial post. When you say the boiler comes on, do you mean the heating comes on, ie, radiators heat up are you just hearing the boiler kick into action?
If the radiators are not coming on then there may not be a problem. Your boiler may have a preheat function that will periodically start the boiler to keep the water hot for when you need it. If your rads are heating up when you draw hot water then it could be a faulty diverter valve.0 -
The boiler turns on and draws heat to the radiators with no water on and with the boiler on 'water only' setting:j0
