How much to keep in an emergency fund?

    I would sit down and add up all my outgoings - times that by 6 or even 12 months and have that as your emergency fund.
    Also have a life happens fund for car, anything that goes wrong on the property etc
    Keep credit card debt to zero.
    I agree with having an insurance just to pay for your funeral expenses and Income Protection if you can afford it.
    Looking back I wish I had a life insurance that paid out when I reached 50 or 60, maybe you can look into that as well.
    But all that depends on your salary and how far it can stretch.
