Mercantile Credit-PPI

Hi

About 8-9 years ago I found a loan I had with the above that had PPI I sent off a letter with a copy of the agreement and a couple of statements and they paid out a small sum in comparison to the ppi I thought I was due as they stated they could not find any details other what I had sent they and paid me £1700

As time has gone by I have realised I should have pushed the issue a bit more .At the time the money was handy to help me out of a situation so I cashed the cheque and forgot about it

Would there be any mileage in my some years later challenging the sum paid
Apologies , if this type of question has already been asked

Thank you x

  • Your complaint ended a decade ago. With no new evidence from you, any attempt to resurrect it is futile.

Time to put this behind you once and for all..
  • What you would’ve received was an ‘average redress payout’ - in essence the lender has insufficient evidence of how many premiums you paid and for how long, as such they made an offer based on the average amount redress paid in similar situations. This practice is acceptable to the FOS and without sufficient evidence from you of your premiums paid then there would be nothing more to consider.

That said you accepted the offer and this was the end of the matter as you had six months in which to take your complaint further if you wished to (this has LONG since passed).

Therefore please don’t waste any more time of energy on this.
