Fridge freezer faulty again

Hi All
Question I purchased a SMEG Fridge Freezer 25 months ago.
After 11 months it packed in and I had the engineer around 3 times to repair it.. in the end they gave me a brand new fridge freezer. 12 months later it has packed in again!
I’ve got the engineer around again tomorrow.. if they try fixing it numerous times again or the engineer tomorrow says you need a new fridge freezer can I refuse demanding a different model or money back?
What’s my rights?

One attempted repair is allowed.
Then it's refund or replacement by an equivalent value fridge freezer.
Unsure of your total time scales, it could be a complication.

Your consumer rights are with the retailer not SMEG. In addition I believe any warranty/guarantee is valid only from the original purchase date.0 -

That's what I thought but when i called up SMEG. I was told my warranty went through to Jan 2020 (I wasn't going to complain), I purchased this in Jan 2017.
I guess the new replacement fridge freezer gave me another 2 years which is weird..
My wife is fed up and said I don't want this model again... How can it keeps breaking.0 -

I have had the engineer round and tried fixing the fault with no luck, another engineer came around and said it was the compressor yet again! I have been offered a new fridge/freezer again... or a different model if an upgraded model I would have to pay the difference .. or an uplift number if I was to go back to the retailer I purchased it via. What does the later mean? I think I would like to move away from SMEG.
