are your crayons all the same make? Some have plastic stuff mixed in so they are not 100 wax.

There's an older thread on making crayons here, with a link through to some great pics on the Christmas board.
I agree with PigPen - you need to mix just the same sort of crayon - the different waxes may not melt evenly and not mix well.

you can make floating candles with old melted (white) candle stubbs melted with wax crayon in your prefered colour. by pouring the melted wax and crayon into bun tins lined with cup cake cases - add a wick and leave to harden. when they have set remove the cake case and you have nice floating candles. ps use an old pan for melting wax as it wont be much good for anything else after.Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness.
