Thunderbird asking for gmail password?

All of a sudden, Thunderbird won't accept the password for one of my gmail accounts. (the other one works fine)

I can access by webmail or on my phone (K9 Mail) but TB just flatly refuses to play!:(

I've tried most google suggestions - allow less secure apps, delete passwords in TB to name but two.

Has anyone else had this?
Will it be OK tomorrow perhaps???

:(

  • I use TB on linux, but try looking in Tools/Developer Tools/Error Console - see if there is anything in there?

    Reinstall TB?
  • Not saying this will do it but take a look at tools/accounts/ and server settings for the two accounts and changing the authentication method to "OAuth2".

    Only have:-
    Normal Password
    Encrypted Password
    Kerberos/GSAPPI
    NTLM

EDIT - found it, but sadly, it made no difference! :(
