Reclaiming Bank Charges

Am I able to reclaim bank charges going back to 2002.
I have read mse article dated 9 October 2018 and it appears to be up to date/not archived. I have started to draft a letter from the template.
At the time I did have personal and health circumstances which fit into the criteria.
Presently though I would not now be classed as suffering hardship though I could be back then.
Many thanks

Much the same situation as your other thread regarding charges - banks charge cannot be assessed for their level or fairness as ruled by the courts.
A firm is required to consider refunding SOME charges if a consumer is currently in financial hardship and the refund of those charges (usually 2 months worth st best) would help reduce the current hardship.
The fact that you may or may not have been in hardship in the past is unfortunately irrelevant.0 -

The banks won the court case in 2009 and the MSE article has just been left since then.Presently though I would not now be classed as suffering hardship though I could be back then.
In which case, the current financial hardship criteria does not apply to you.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
