I wonder if anyone can give me the name of a good route planner site that gives the route in words that can be printed easily rather than a map please. We don't have the use of a sat nav.

Meant to say that the sites I've looked at do have written instructions but I don't know how to print the full instructions.

Not sure if this is in the right section, sorry if it's not.

We don't have a sat nav and have always got by using the RAC route planner if we've wanted more than just a map. It gives a map and then a break down list of instructions and has always been very useful for printing out.

Many thanks to everyone who posts competitions and works so hard to provide all the answers!

    Google maps.

You can either send direction to your phone if youve got a gmail account and its set up or you can print off map and route directions by clicking the 3 horizontal lines in the top left and going to 'print'.

This will give you a list of the route which you can print out or write down. You can see the map and on the left hand side the route will be listed. There is a print icon there for you to print.

The RAC have a similar one that works just like the AA's.

I've used both of these and they are good enough to get you what you want and to where you want.

Do you have a smartphone and even just a small amount of data on your mobile phone plan? If so then that has GPS built in so you can use one of the several free satnav apps such as Google Maps, Waze, Here WeGo.
