Scottish Power Phone Calls

I kept getting a call from an unknown number on my phone, eventually I answered it so I could tell them to get lost. It was Scottish Power, trying to get me to switch. I am with a green electricity company, and pay less than what they are offering. I said I wasn't interested. The person on the phone was trying to get me to switch there and then on the phone, despite not being able to look through the documents. I said no thank you and eventually hung up. I still keep getting calls from them despite the blocked number (my phone doesn't ring but will notify me that a blocked number tried to call).
They were just a pain in the bum! Why do they think this tactic will work? I would like to think that most people would want to read through the contract, standing charges etc

My husband just keeps repeating "send me the details".
If they say they can't then he says he doesn't buy anything over the phone so send me the details.
They eventually get the message.0 -
I absolutely refuse to discuss financial matter to an incoming phone call, there is no way of being absolutely certain they were legit who they say they are, and it could be a phishing trip for personal details.(Although I could be wrong, I often am.)0

I’ve had daily calls from Scottish Power for more than a month now. I’ve logged every single one as a complaint (link below). They’ve openly stated that they will not remove me from their calling list so the more often they are reported the better.

Yes! I asked them to email me the details, they said they couldn't and it was on the phone only. Hmmmmm0 -
They can't because they are a call centre.
The handlers have no knowledge of the product.
They are employed to handle calls according to a script they have been given.0 -
Try calling 08000270072 their customer services.0

I am a customer of Scottish Power, but despite me opting out of marketing with them they hound me with contact about smart meters. 6 times in 3 days recently. They told me because it was a government initiative they had to keep contacting me
Even after me complaining several times a week it carried on until I pointed out they were misusing my personal data and was going to report them .
Then they agreed to remove me from marketing0 -
I guess that you are a former customer of Scottish Power? If so, maybe you can still access an online account and delete the phone number. Failing that, change the phone number to a number that can never possibly exist eg: 020 0000 0000. That is what I do when I close accounts with companies.0

No, never!
That's a really good idea! I'll keep that in mind :T0 -

Just tell them not to contact you about Smart Meters - they are HAVE to make All Reasonable Steps under their licence conditions to get their customers onto Smart Meters - BUT you can say that you don't want one & they must stop contacting you about it!
