Tesco Foundation Card - limits and upgrades?

Somewhat surprisingly, Tesco got their act together and upped my limit to £600 in March (advised on same day as Feb statement).
Then the trick repeated to £900 in late-June (advised same day as May statement) and more recently last week (which I forgot about) an increase to £1,200 which I was advised about in mid-August.
So in a year I have come from £250 to £1,200, an offer of an increase every 3 months - albeit with some messing about in the middle!
FOS rejected my complaint in the end as apparently Tesco hadn't made an error. If it happens again I'm getting another call handler to say the same to me and then requesting a written transcript afterwards... ! Although I imagine Tesco have told their call handlers to behave and stop telling customers the truth!!
They declined me for a 'full'/prime card - when I queried it they basically said no with adverse (Bankruptcy) on file. Not sure if that applies to other adverse (e.g. CCJ), but may be helpful if anyone is hoping for an upgrade. I've just got to wait until adverse drops next year!0 -
What did you go to the FOS for?
Did the letter say you would get an increase so long as you pass all the required checks?0 -
Tesco for me gave me a limit of £800 on this card and I’ve had for over 3 years and no increase even when I have asked, this is now by far my lowest cards, with others over £13000. I’ve recently being accepted for a FIrst Direct account and a virgin credit card both companies that upto this point have always turned me down over the last 5 years, so I’d say my file is very healthy but it just happens like that in the world of credit, no body knows how it all works. For me I’m happy to use it for small local tesco transactions and possibly because of the small limit and small usage there system does not feel I need any more.

I applied for a Tesco card in Feb 2019, was declined and told to apply for foundation, stupidly I did. I was given a £250 limit, which was of little use to me but I decided to just use it and see what happens. This week I closed it as I was able to get a Lloyds Credit card with an £11k limit and 20 month 0% purchases and BTs.
The whole game is lottery and there's little point even trying to understand it. Accepted, rejected, increase, no increase.
I have just recently had a haircut and I think that made all the difference.0
