    If she will not then they will get a court order and involve police. It IS IMHO the way to break the deadlock and prevent her further abusing him. You owe it to your dad to do it.

    You might also invplxensocial services as I believe this is a clear case of abuse. They are well used to dealing with this sort of situation. She would not be able to prevent them seeing him.

    You're jumping to conclusions. How do you know the wife isn't protecting her beloved husband from his grasping offspring?

    According to OP's first post, there are at least 7 children/stepchildren, so could be she is also (and quite reasonably) concerned for her own financial security.

    Given that OP is responding to everything with 'she wouldn't allow it', there's not much point in posting anything further.
    Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!

    If a court order was obtained she would simply be arrested if she obstructed the DSS. What have you got to lose by asking the DSS? they deal with sort of situation regularly.
