Should i go to manufacturers for servicing and MOT
Hi guys,
I have a 2015 Peugeot, worth approx £6,000-£6,500. I'm hoping to get a new job soon and if I do I will be selling the car.
My MOT is due next month, as well as a major service.
Up to now I have full dealers servicing history. The official Peugeot dealers is further away than a local garage and likely to cost more than the local dealers.
Is it advisable to continue with the dealers for the sake of the car's resale value or is it not going to have much bearing on a 4 year old 308?
Thanks in advance.

Your Peugeot dealer is not "the manufacturers" - they're merely a franchisee.
No, a full dealer history won't have much effect on the value of a 4yo car.0 -
Where has it been serviced up until now? If the main dealer I'd be tempted to just stick with that. Might garner a bit of goodwill later and looks better to any prospective buyers.
If I was keeping the car I would be off to the nearest decent mechanic once out of warranty.0 -

I wouldn't buy anything under 5 years without full main dealer service history, there's plenty of cars that have. I wouldn't even go and view it.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
How much is the major service?0

After AdrianC's emphatic response I booked it in with the more convenient, local mechanic garage. Thanks allIncreasingly money-conscious
