Saga car insurance a nightmare

I have been insuring my car for years with Saga as they where the cheapest but I have found and gone somewhere else as loyalty accounts for nothing these days. My new insurer would like a copy of my NCD within 14 days, so I contacted Saga for the document and received the customery we will get back to you in 2 days, and nothing arrived only adverts for saga. I have been onto my online account where the documents are stored and they have mysteriously disappeared asking me to ring their phone number which I did and they said the documents would be sent via email. Still nothing has arrived and my insurance starts with the new company on March 1st. So despite three extremely polite emails, and a couple of calls I still have not received proof of my 20 years plus NCD so where do I go from here, there’s enough problems in my life at the moment without worrying about a company good enough to take my money, but where customer service is appalling.

Whenever you are not happy with your insurance company the route to go down is a complaint in line with their complaints procedure

Then if you are not happy with the reply you can escalate to the FOS for their adjudication at no cost to you

Always download renewal documents as soon as available and definitely before you tell them you are leaving. But that aside Saga are duty bound to make your proof of NCD available to you and your next insurer. So it's another call listing their failures so far and saying you will escalate the matter if they do not supply th eproof of NCD you are entitled to.


You can also use last year's proof if you have it though obviously with 1 less year.
